Route description
This cycle tour connects Passail, the economic center of the Almenland Nature Park, with the district capital of Weiz. The route leads out to Weiz along the Raab, which has its source a few kilometers north of Passail and forms the Große Raabklamm between Arzberg and Weiz. Past the Stubegg ruins, the trail leads up to Burgstall with its wonderful view of the Schöckl.
Turn left at the parking lot with the beautiful cross and bench, over the Hammersberg and past the Maria Loreto pilgrimage church, down into the Raabtal valley. A few more kilometers slightly uphill and then you reach Weiz. After a visit to the town, perhaps with some shopping and a stop for refreshments, the way back leads along the Raabtal cycle path R11 back to Passail. As the Raab gorge between Weiz and Arzberg is difficult to access, you cycle halfway between the Raab gorge and the Gösserwand, which guarantees beautiful views.
