For the cozy hikers
Via the wooden sculpture path up to the Gschaid-Nock and further to the Gerler cross: a varied hiking trail with a summit storm and refreshment stops.
Wood carving with a chainsaw is the hobby of Erich Haider-Harrer, who is also an innkeeper and farmer on the Nechnitz, the high plateau in the municipality of Fladnitz an der Teichalm. With his wooden figures, mainly domestic forest animals, he has now designed a wonderful path from the Nechnitz almost up to the Gschaid Nock summit. The route starts directly at the Haider inn. Over 45 different wooden figures, benches, an energy fountain and explanatory boards accompany the 1.5 km long path up to the summit. There is a wonderful all-round view. The mountains can be easily assigned using the large display board. The further path, now over alpine pastures, leads beyond the Wildkogel to the Gerler-Kreuz. There the Gerlerkogelhütte is waiting for hungry and thirsty hikers. The way back leads past the Gerlerkreuz and the Hintereben district with its homesteads back to the Nechnitz.
