From mountain ash to rowan berry schnapps

The Vogelbeer Panoramaweg is a panoramic hiking trail in St. Kathrein/Offenegg, dedicated to the rowan berry and mountain ash as the regional tree of the Almenland. A special connection with this plant has been established locally by the Edelbrennerei Graf, which produces the multiple award-winning and highly praised rowan berry brandy.
The trail itself features several activity stations, from a panorama sofa to a sound oasis and the forest xylophone. Tables and benches await tired hikers on the Lärchenwiese and at the Schwoaghofer Teich. Interesting information about the rowan berry is presented on plaques along the way. Oversized horseshoe sculptures by alpine artist Sascha Exenberger also await admirers by the trail. The last leg of the hike runs along the “Duftweg” around the church in the village centre. A wonderful view makes this trail especially attractive!
Two destinations that invite you to stop directly along the trail are the Sulamith-Garten and Edelbrennerei Graf.
