Ice climbing – beginner & advanced
If you are looking for a challenge on the cliffs during the winter months, ice climbing is just the thing for you. A hot tip for exciting ice climbing for beginners and experts is the Tiefenbachgraben in Breitenau/Hochlantsch. A 25-minute climb takes you to the 23 m tall ice fall “Alice” (difficulty around WI 4). A timber scaffolding was built under the waterfall to support the ice so it cannot collapse. Since the water can be diverted, the ice fall also survives warm periods.
There is an additional 18 m tall ice column for learning the basic techniques, and bouldering is offered.
Try this trendy sport under the supervision of a mountain guide. Individual tours and courses available on request.
